What are dreadlocks?Dreadlocks are dope. If it was upto dRAD, dreadlocks would be a synonym for cool! Also called dreads, locks or locs, dreadlocks can be traced back to the indian sages or yogis. This hairstyle is also associated with the African culture but is flaunted worldwide by all age groups! Natural dreadlocks take a lot of time to form organically. If one skips brushing and maintaining their hair, the hair naturally divides itself into rough rope sections that eventually result in dreads. If professionally done, there are a lot more steps involved like back-combing and knotting. The results may look good in the end but the damage to the hair is irreversible. Hence, dRAD! We make faux dreadlock extensions that you can rock any time of the day (or night) without any damage to your natural hair.
-
What are dRAD faux dreadlocks made of?dRAD brings you faux dreadlocks that are made from 100% Australian Merino wool which is extremely soft and comfortable. Handmade with all our love, these faux dreadlock extensions are light weight, eco-friendly and easy to wear. The best part — they come in all colours and blends to match your moods.

What does DE (double ended) & SE (Single ended) dreadlock mean? When one long dreadlock is folded in half, it gets two ends. Hence its called a double ended (DE) dread. Similarly, Single Ended (SE) dreads have only one end while the other end is either attached to a clip-on, pin, rubber band or is used for installation directly onto the hair.
-
What variants does dRAD sell?We offer 5 variants which are easy to wear for everyone: • Dread-Pins : The dreadlocks are attached to a U-pin so it becomes a convenient option when opting for a bun as a hairstyle. • Dread-Clipins : The dreadlocks are attached to a clip for uncomplicated hairstyles. You just have to part your hair and clip the dreads in. • Dread -Ties : The dreadlocks are attached to a hair tie for smooth styling. Ponytail, half-bun, half-tie, braids…just keep on experimenting. • Dread-Band : The dreadlocks are attached to an elastic hairband. Just wear one and you are done! • Dread Head : These come in a set of 20 DE dreads (40 Ends) or 40 DE dreads (80 Ends). The hair needs to be sectioned inch-wide and the dreads are then installed into those sections.

Can they be washed?Dreads can be washed while installed into your hair but only with a conditioner free shampoo. It tends to soak in a lot of water so make sure you squeeze it all out and then blow dry at a low heat setting. Once blow dried you can slightly palm roll them if you feel they’re losing their shape and it’ll be back to its original look! Make sure you take out the accessories before washing.
-
Do you customise & personalise dreads?Yes, get in touch with us if you want a different length, colour or decoration. You can add a name to the dread to make it exclusive, especially if it’s a gift. This will come at an additional cost as it’s all done by hand but trust us, it will totally be worth it.
